General Concepts

To understand better why hypnosis works, it is important to understand first some concepts about how our mind works.

As we discuss in a previous article our mind have been conceptualized to be divided into two elements: conscious and subconscious.

Our conscious mind show to the world who are we pretend to be. It can be a mask of a happy and successful individual, however, behind the mask, we could find a sad and lonely being or a selfish individual, etc. This is our analytical and superficial side of the mind.

Our subconscious mind is our truth. It can shows who we really are. All our memories and experiences are recorded here. This is the captain of our vessel.

Have you ever experience that you said to yourself: "tomorrow I will start my diet" then tomorrow arrives and you completely ignored your previous decision. Why you didn't follow your original desire?

Our conscious mind has something called "critical factor", which acts as a filter. It validates all our thought and ideas against what it is already registered or recorded in our subconscious mind. When a new thought arrives and it is not in accordance with what is already in the subconscious mind, then this new thought is rejected.

Using hypnosis techniques, the professional bypass this critical factor to reach the subconscious mind and produce the individual desire change. All our programming (beliefs and habits) are embedded in our subconscious mind and hypnosis is an excellent technique to reach them.
